History
KPS was born from an alliance between its founder, Tamara Hadaway, and a group of impassioned parents who needed a place where their children could learn academic fundamentals while nourishing their spirituality. Mrs. Hadaway, a Christian community leader and 19-year veteran in the education field, began researching educational opportunities on the parents’ behalf. Astoundingly, she found that Evanston’s 5th Ward was terribly underserved; it is the only ward in the township that did not have its own elementary school.
That would change in August of 2015 when Kingsway opened its doors to students in prekindergarten to 3rd grade (reflecting the needs of the initial families). Even more fitting is that KPS found a home in the old Foster School, now the Family Focus Building serving many in the community. Kingsway now provides a safe and nurturing environment for students through to grade 5.
We are dedicated to providing a rigorous academic environment that is conducive to spiritual growth, character and community development, and academic achievement.
Testimonial
"Kingsway Prep has really helped my daughter grow intellectually and spiritually. Her reading and writing skills have made tremendous gains since she has been enrolled. Kingsway Prep has also fostered an environment where she feels confident and inspired to be anything she desires to be. We are glad to be part of the Kingsway family."
